MOVING TO FRANCE (UK CITIZENS)
If you want come to France for more that 90 days, you will need to apply for a long-stay visa. There are two types:
- a temporary Long Stay visitor visa (VLS-T Visiteur) if you plan to spend between 3 and 6 months in one block of the year
- for longer stays, a Long Stay visitor visa (visa de long sejour valant tire de sejour VLS-TS visiteur).
Complicated though it may seem, there is a great site with all the details – https://france-visas.gouv.fr/en_US/web/france-visas/ – start with the “Do you need a visa?” box.
NEW: Video tours – we are in the process of creating internal and external video tours of properties. External tours, where available, can be viewed on the relevant property page. Please contact us if you would like an internal tour of a property (these are generally only available upon request).
Great news – we are open for business.
With the slight relaxation in the restriction of movement, we have been able to re-open our offices and re-start visiting properties.
However, in the interest of the health and safety of our staff and clients, access to the office is via prior appointment only – so please contact us in advance of any planned visit to come and see us.
Held in London the French Property Exhibition January 2020 is a must for any potential French home buyer.
It brings together estate agents, developers, solicitors, currency specialists and other professionals covering every aspect of buying in France.
Discuss your plans with Charente Immobilier and pick up valuable advice from the experts in moving, buying and financing.
A record number of homes changed hands in France last year and the property market is buoyant. House prices have been creeping up but are still much lower than in the UK, especially in rural areas away from cities and coastal hotspots.
With the UK still on course to leave the European Union, many Brits are racing to snap up property in the hope of moving across the Channel before Brexit and securing an automatic right to stay indefinitely. Experts insist, however, that people will still be able to move to France after Brexit. It’s just that their rights will be covered by French immigration law, not EU law, and there will likely be more paperwork and restrictions.
The event is free to attend and offer visitors a wealth of information from industry experts to inform and inspire anyone interested in buying that dream home in France.
The seminar programme covers a range of topical issues and a chance to get free and up-to date advice on all aspects of the buying process.
Whether you are seeking a permanent residence, holiday home or buy-to-let or investment property, we guarantee you will walk away feeling more informed and one step closer to making your French property purchase a reality. Make sure you register for free, fast-track entry.
