Money laundering

Money laundering

As with all Estate Agents, Charente Immobilier is subject to European and national money laundering regulations (the Fight Against Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorists). This means that we are required to obtain and hold identification and proof of address for all customers. In addition to this, we are also required to establish whether there are any beneficial owners on whose behalf the transaction or activity is taking place. With this in mind, we ask you to identify anyone who you would consider to be a beneficial owner.

We are also required to obtain details of your profession as well as your income/wealth and the source/destination of purchase funds. Please note that without this information no estate agent in France will be able to proceed with any work on your behalf.

Below is a list of acceptable identity documents. We require sight of original or certified documents. Subject to your individual circumstances, Charente Immobilier may contact you for further/other documentation.
