Main living level
The front door opens into the light entrance hall (11m2) with floor to ceiling windows and mirrors. Off the hall is a guest WC.
To the right of the hall a corridor provides access to the daytime living accommodation. To the end of the corridor an original translucent stained acrylic door opens to a large dual-aspect split-level living room with defined sitting and dining areas (40m2). The sitting area has huge picture windows which open onto a paved terrace. There are the most wonderful views over the village and countryside. The sitting area also has a fireplace and floor-ducting for the central heating.
Next to the dining area is a separate kitchen (10m2) - with a matching translucent stained acrylic wall and door. The kitchen has a range of fitted units and room for a table.
Next the living room, and enjoying the same views, is a second living room / snug / office, with an fireplace and sliding doors to the terrace.
To the left of the entrance hall the corridor continues to the bedrooms (13m2, 13m2 and 10m2). Two of the bedrooms have doors to the terrace and all three have built-in storage.
As with the rest of the house, the family shower room has kept its style. It has twin wash-basins, a WC and a walk-in shower (the shower door being in the same style of acrylic as before, only this time blue in colour).
Basement / underbuild level
A flight of stairs leads down to the basement - about 130m2. This houses the oil-fired central heating boiler, a laundry / utility area and a store-room. The rest of the space offers covered parking for a number of cars, still leaving space for a snooker table etc.)
The house sits on a west-facing plot of 5035m2. A paved drives curves around the side and rear of the house, leading to the garage/basement.
The garden itself has been beautifully landscaped and offers lawns, mature trees, shrubs and borders. There are a number of terraces and seating areas from which to make the most of the incredible view and there is also a dedicated barbeque area.
The only way to describe this extraordinary house is "groovy"! It is in a wonderful location - on the edge of the village with views across it and within walking distance of the village shop and restaurant.
The department's capital city, Angoulême, with its great facilities and TGV/LGV station with trains to Paris and Bordeaux, is less than 30kms.
